Owens History
Welcome : About Us : Owens History
|
It all began in the 50's when Dewey Owens moved to Lafayette, Louisiana where he worked in the oilfield industry as a sales representative for a company that sold butterfly valves.
Noticing that production was being delayed waiting for flanges to arrive, Dewey decided to buy his own machine shop and produce the flanges inhouse.
When his shop needed a sewage treatment plant, Dewey looked at what was available and decided that he could create a system that would do it better, simpler, and be more cost effective to operate. The Owens Kleen Tank was born!

After enjoying years of success, Dewey decided it was time to sell Owens Manufacturing & Specialty Company in the 90's. Stefan Leonpacher, whose company had already been manufacturing the units for Owens for several years, bought the company and has continued to produce the units with the same quality and excellence.
With this innovative management, Owens Manufacturing continues to set the standards in the industry while forging ahead into the future, using the latest technology and introducing new product lines.
